The author of the essay attempts to estimate a place of the monograph by V. Adadurovinthe modern historiography of Napoleonic era. The author came to a conclusion that a combination of the perspective methodology of "mental maps", still poorly demanded by historians,with a wide and impressive base of sources, including 394 hand-written documents from archives of several countries and a lot of published materials,made this research to beaprecise and bright phenomenon of a world historiography of the Napoleonic epoque.
