The French-Speaking Arabs: an essay of historical-cultural evolution

Prozhogina Svetlana

Caused by the mass emigration of Maghrebians to France complicated integration processes within the French society lead to social and political confrontation, accompanied by the apparent "miscegenation" of French cultural image. These processes currently being finalized by shaping of multi-ethnic and multi-confessional French society, which simultaneously experience the polarization of cultural identity of different ethnic groups and the search of new identities marked by the processes of interactions of different civilizations. A huge body of Magrebian literature written in the French language in France and abroad, is an almost documentary-artistic evidence of the above mentioned phenomena that confirms the forming of the new forms of civilization intersections in the world cultural process.

Keywords: emigration, France, Maghreb, Francophone Maghreb literature.
