The article explores the process of Napoleon Bonaparte’s developing as an outstanding military leader. It indicates that a major feature of this process was the extraordinary rapidity of the formation of Bonaparte’s art of the commander literally constructed in the first days of the Italian campaign of 1796. It is also considered the organization of the army by young leader that corresponded to his ideas about the most effective armed force. It is noted that in addition to military training, the army was also undergone ideological processing. At the end of the campaign in 1797, it became not only a powerful military force, but the army ready for the Caesarian coup.
