Elites of France in the Past and Present (According the French researches)

   The article gives a short review of a evolution of French elites (essentially, economic and political ones) from the end of the 18th century till present day. A particular attention is paid to questions of their renovation on different historical stages, including, in accordance with the type of government and political regime. The mechanisms of reproduction of modern elites are investigated and therefore the problem of caste is raised. The impact of European integration and globalization on them is considered.In the last section, the prospects of changes in the elites in connection with the presidential elections and coming parliamentary elections are analyzed.
