Napoleonic Wars of 1812 - 1815: the French commemorations in ourdays

The 200th anniversary of the Napoleonic wars provoked in France a wave of commemorations of various levels, contents and directions. On this occasion it took place a lot of academic conferences, it appeared numerous monographs, collections of articles and publications of historical sources. The author pays a special attention to the corresponding social and cultural initiatives in French provincial towns and villages such as festivals, exhibitions, fairs, processions, concerts, battle reconstructions.
