Some eminent figures of French Revolution were accused in organization of the September Massacres of 1792, including Jean-Lambert Tallien, the member of the Paris Commune and one of the future leaders of the Thermidorian Convention. Later his participation in events of September gave for his political opponents a good reason to accuse him. The author analyses the facts which gave the pretext for attacks on Tallien and demonstrates the influence which his supposed immixture in the September Massacres had to his political career.
