French tutors in Russia in the XVIIIth century : the results of an international research project « Frenchmen in Russia »

The author sums up the results of an international research project which allowed to gather a lot of information about French-speaking tutors who worked in Russia. The article also deals with the question of the negative image of the activity of French tutors within the Russian society.
