Europe under the Napoleon`s reign: view of Stendhel

Article is devoted to A. Beyl (Stendhal’s) participation in military campaigns of Napoleon. A. Beyl, being a military official, I have had an opportunity for 1808-1814 not only to watch behavior of the person in the war, but also to analyze nature of relationship between Napoleon’s army and the population of territories on which there were French soldiers. It belonged to the Westphalian kingdom (1808), Austria (1809), Russia (1812), Saxony (1813). To A. Beyl also Izer in anticipation of approach of armies of the anti-French coalition in 1814 was necessary to participate in the organization of defense of the French department. The author of article has paid much attention to the changes happening in A. Bale as the person and the creative person under the influence of experience of participation in military campaigns. Thanks to the got experience future great writer Stendhal has given to the world new, more realistic, than there was in literature to him, an idea of war.
