Adadurov Vadim

In order to determine the state of Napoleonic discourse in Ukraine we analyze the annotated translation of Wilhelm von Gebler`s classic study (1863) about the participation in 1812 campaign of Austrian Corp under the command of Duke Karl von Schwarzenberg, this study was carried out by publishers of Lvov military almanac "Citadel" for the 200th anniversary of the Russian campaign of the Grand Army. Ascertained archaic character of Ukrainian Gebler`s publishers representations about the military history of 1812, also was revealed the systematic plagiarism from comments of Russian`s “Encyclopedia of the War of 1812” (2004). On the contrary, author’s appeal to unpublished Austrian and French archival materials allowed, not just to determine inaccurate and fragmentary character of Geblre`s research, but also significantly clarify the composition and structure of Schwarzenberg`s textual corp.
